Built to Last—No Cheap Plastic, No Loose Parts
Unlike the cheap handles that crack, bend, or loosen over time, Piventra was built for the real world. It’s solid, reliable, and ready every single time you need it.
You didn't get through a hip replacement to be lifted into your own car like a patient. But every transfer brings the same worry: one wrong angle and you undo what the surgeon just fixed.
The rules are simple: don't bend past 90 degrees, don't twist, don't let the knee roll inward. A low car seat breaks all three at once. Grab the door frame and it's worse, because the door swings and pulls you sideways.
UpSteady locks into the door latch and gives you a fixed handle at standing height. Your arms take the weight, so you lower straight down and rise straight up, without the twist.
Rated to 180 kg (28 stone), with no flex and no wobble. Try it for 90 days: if it doesn't make the car easier, send it back for a full refund.

I’ve seen patients injured by cheap handles that bent under pressure. The Piventra’s 181kg capacity and medical-grade construction won’t fail when needed. Takes 2 seconds to insert, no installation required. A smart investment that prevents thousands in medical bills from fall-related injuries.
Getting out of the car is where many hip replacement patients come unstuck. The seat is low, the door moves, and every instinct says twist, grab and push. That's exactly what your new hip doesn't need.
UpSteady slots into the door latch and gives you a padded, rock-solid handle to push up from. Your arms take the weight, you rise straight up, and you step out steadily. Use it for the drive home from hospital, every physio appointment, and every trip after.
Yes, it fits almost every car. UpSteady slots into the U-shaped door latch: the metal loop on the door frame that the door clicks shut onto. Hatchbacks, saloons, estates, SUVs, MPVs and vans all have one.
In the rare case it doesn't fit your car, you have 90 days to send it back for a full refund. No risk at all.

I recommend it to every hip replacement patient I discharge
“As a physiotherapist specialising in post-operative recovery, this handle is my first recommendation for every total hip replacement patient. Car transfers are where hip precautions are hardest to follow, patients twist past safe angles reaching for the door frame, exactly when re-injury risk is highest. This gives them the stable, correctly-positioned grip they need. It should be on every hip discharge checklist.”
Almost didn’t buy it because I’d only need it 8 weeks, glad I ignored that
“I hesitated over the price for something temporary. Then my daughter pointed out that one fall could cost me months of recovery, suddenly £45 looked like nothing. It got me to every physio appointment on my own. Recovery’s over now, but it stays in my glove box permanently. My mother’s getting one for her knee surgery.”
I’m a big guy, this thing doesn’t flinch
“I’m 6'4" and 23 stone, and I put my full weight on this handle every time I get out of the car. No flex, no wobble, no creaking, it feels like grabbing a steel rail bolted to the vehicle. After trying a cheaper handle that flexed under me, the difference is night and day. This is the real thing.”
Works on both our vehicles and not a single mark
“I was sceptical it would fit my low Camry, let alone my husband’s F-150. It slides into both door latches in seconds and feels rock solid in each. I also worried it would scratch the latch on our newer car, three months of daily use and there isn’t a single mark. Wish I’d ordered it sooner.”
Every week, people coming home after a hip replacement face the same problem: a low seat, a door that swings and nothing solid to hold. Whether it's the drive home from hospital, a trip to physio or the weekly shop, UpSteady gives you a strong, steady grip, so you can get in and out without the worry.
Unlike the cheap handles that crack, bend, or loosen over time, Piventra was built for the real world. It’s solid, reliable, and ready every single time you need it.
Not just another gimmick. Health professionals—including physiotherapists and home carers—use and recommend Piventra because it’s safe, practical, and reliable.
One of the easiest tools you’ll ever use: plug it into the latch, and that’s it. No installations, no guesswork, and it fits most vehicles effortlessly.
Most people worry about stairs or slippery bathrooms—but some of the worst falls happen just getting out of the car. Piventra gives you the stable support you need, exactly when you’re most vulnerable.
Its lightweight, compact design easily fits into your car’s glove box or door pocket, keeping it conveniently within reach.
It’s supportive without being obvious. Piventra gives real help without drawing attention, which means the person using it can feel capable, not dependent.

In the weeks after a hip replacement you're asked to avoid deep bending, twisting and crossing your legs. Getting out of a car asks for all three at once.
Most people grab whatever is closest: the door frame, which swings, or the seat, which is behind them. Both pull you sideways, right when your new hip is at its most vulnerable.
UpSteady fixes that one moment. It gives you a solid handle that doesn't move, at a height that lets you rise straight up with your arms. No leaning, no twisting, no guessing.
After hip replacement, the car transfer is the riskiest move you’ll make all day. The Piventra car cane is built to medical-grade standards with 181 kg weight capacity — support you can trust with a healing hip. Simply slide it into your door latch—no tools, no installation, nothing to assemble while you’re recovering—and get a professional-quality grip that won’t bend or wobble mid-transfer. Fits virtually all vehicles, so it works on discharge day no matter who drives you home.
Simply slide the metal tip into the door latch, ensuring a secure fit — takes seconds, even one-handed
Hold the comfortable foam handle and let it take your weight as you sit or stand — no twisting, no reaching, no strain on your new hip.
Before your hip replacement you'll be shown the walking aids, the raised toilet seat and the grabber. Hardly anyone mentions the car, yet the drive home is often your very first transfer.
Put UpSteady in your bag, hand it to whoever is collecting you, and use it from the hospital car park onwards. Then keep it in the glovebox for every physio appointment.
Always follow the advice of your surgeon or physiotherapist.

All was good.
holds in door well, very sturdy!
Great help in n out of car and safety device
easy to use
I own a low-slung sports car and as I get older, I find it harder and harder to get (in) and out of the dam-ed thing. So I decided to try the car handle. It definitely helps me get out of the car. Mine is a two-door, so the door latch sits a bit behind me, and once I got in the habit of setting the handle in place before I swing my legs out it was second nature, even with the bolsters in my car (a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4). The metal part seats down into the latch hole and stops dead, so nothing rocks or shifts as you move your weight to stand, which is exactly what you want when you are coming up out of a seat that low. It also comes with a seatbelt cutter and doubles as a window breaker. So, yeah, I recommend it, no reservations.
Does exactly as it’s made for! I actually purchased 3 of these. One for my elderly Aunt and Uncle, as the have back and leg issues getting in and out of cars, they LOve It! The others I purchased for my husband and myself. I have back and hip issues and getting in and out of car is difficult at times, and that little handle really DOES HELP! The 3rd was for my husband as he too has a VERY bad back and had knee surgery recently, and has hip issues as well, he’s in a wheelchair so instead of having to use his walking frame to stand before getting into his wheelchair, he uses that handle! So this little handle has helped all 4 of us! And it hasn’t moved or slipped once you put it where it’s supposed to go, and once you are up, we all just put it in the door pocket in the door. Very simple and easy to use. And we’ve all 4 used it a LOT since they arrived! Recommend? You bet!!
Seriously, I’m disabled and this is a handy tool to have around your vehicle just for that little extra help getting out of the seat. Being taller than average, I pull the seat all the way back when I enter or exit anyway (need the clearance for my orthotics), and rely rely on this (one hand on this device, other on steering wheel) to help me back up to a stand position after driving. Sure, I have my wheelchair/walking frame, but I like my independence and want to have that little extra confidence to successfully leave the vehicle and get going againAll in all, not too expensive and I’m getting more than one (to also put in suitcase) for travel too.
This fits well, feels stable, looks nice, is functional, does not get in the way, and is comfortable to use. In our 2015 Acura MDX it sets into the door mount and stays put, sitting parallel to the closed door, which does not block movement, egress or ingress; it is mainly used for egress (getting out of the car). The standard length is exactly right and does everything I need. It is easy to take hold of and easy to let go of, which is not something I could say about every portable handle I looked at before this. This is right for me, so I ordered another one. One more tip from an old hand: sit on a plastic bag and it is easier to get in and out, it lets you turn without fighting the seat, it is cheap and easy even in a luxury bucket seat, and it lets heat through (but not air con).
I bought two of them. One for my brother, who drives an Infiniti, and one for myself to help assist my father getting into our vehicles. I had no problem at all and neither did he, the metal tip drops into that little loop on the door frame and stops dead, so Dad has something solid to take hold of in both cars. He gets himself in and out under his own power now instead of waiting on one of us to come around and pull on his arm. Glad I bought the pair.
I saw a video and decided to purchase this car cane. Perfect for someone needing mobility assistance or for use in a high riding pickup or van. Gives the extra grip and lift. Really does hold 136 kg. I think it’s great value because it also has a seatbelt cutter and window breaker for safety.

It gives you a fixed handle at standing height, so you can push up with your arms instead of leaning forward or twisting. Always follow the precautions your surgical team gives you.
No. The metal tip sits in the door latch (the U-shaped loop on the door frame), which is built to take far more force than you'll put on it. The handle doesn't touch your paintwork.
